Shark Island: US+Japan Release of Bloodline 2.020 physical album featuring bonus tracks
11.11.2020New bonus material included!
THE ONE TIME “KING OF THE SUNSET STRIP" RICHARD BLACK IS BACK WITH LATEST FROM SHARK ISLAND. DEKO ENTERTAINMENT WILL RELEASE THE PHYSICAL DELUXE EDITION BLOODLINE 2.020 NOVEMBER 13TH OUTSIDE EUROPE.
Shark Island was once the house band at the world famous Gazzari’s on the Sunset Strip. Signed to Epic Records in 1989, the band released their debut album Law of the Order, and also saw the tracks Dangerous and Father Time featured in the movie Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, as well as the song My City from the original movie Point Break. Founder Richard Black would go on to be part of the short lived supergroup Contraband, which also featured Michael Schenker (Scorpions, UFO), and members of L.A. Guns, Ratt and Vixen. They released one album in 1991 before disbanding. In 2018, Shark Island started work on Bloodline, which was recorded in Croatia and Los Angeles. It was produced by Alex Kane (Life Sex Death, Enuff Z’Nuff), mixed by the legendary Sylvia Massy (Aerosmith, Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and released digitally on 11-11 2019 world-wide through CMM/SAOL to quickly become a picture perfect success for the band as an independent act. A European physical launch followed soon after and slightly delayed by the pandemic on Valentine’s Day 2020.
The momentum gathered through the 2019 and 2020 releases didn’t go unnoticed by Deko Entertainment, who have now reached out for a physical release beyond European territories. As a result, Bloodline 2.020 – a new, beefed-up version – will hit stores on November 13, featuring the unreleased extended version of Rocks on the Rocks and the newly recorded Someday, which was just released. And what could possibly be a better date for the numbers-driven gang to announce their latest push than today’s 11-11, the band’s anniversary and a year after Bloodline started paving the way into ears outside the United States?

Richard on Someday, “Many were surprised and taken by the dark tune ON and ON. So in an effort to complete the fatalistic muse idea, Christian Heilmann and I wrote the companion song Someday, that has been haunting me for a considerable amount of time. Although a reflection of myself, many have been brought to tears at the message it contains. It is largely for a man's point of view, but I have a feeling it can speak to women as well. As always, I pray that the work inspires.”
As part of this deluxe 2.020 version, Shark Island are making available limited edition mega-bundles (while supplies last), which can be ordered via: https://tinyurl.com/yy45wegx
