Eamonn McCormack and Joanna Connor Announce European Tour Dates
20.05.2021... and the album Storyteller is out in the US!
Perhaps there’s something in the water in Dublin, Ireland, because music seems to be embedded into Dubliners’ DNA. International blues-rock singer-songwriter and guitarist Eamonn McCormack is no exception. Joining an illustrious roster of such performers as U2, Glen Hansard, and Hozier with his seventh album Storyteller, Eamonn takes you on an audio journey full of laughter, love, and pain, mixed in with a bit of horror.
Storyteller features eleven well-crafted, diverse, self-penned songs. From the opening bars of "The Great Famine", listeners find themselves deeply immersed into the very soul of this artist as he laments a very cruel and dark part of Irish history, a period that saw the country’s population halved within just four years due to mass starvation and forced immigration.
Eamonn started playing guitar when he was six years old. By age twelve, he had decided he would dedicate his life to music. Eamonn has since played, toured and recorded with most of his childhood idols, including Rory Gallagher, ZZ Top, Johnny Winter, and Walter Trout. His musical interests are rich and varied, ranging from Blues to traditional Celtic to Turkish guitar and traditional Chinese musical influences. This panoply of influence is resonant throughout Storyteller, adding a unique flavor to what some describe as “that recognizable, melancholic, blues-rocking Irish sound.”
So fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride, and hear why Storyteller has reached the top of the blues charts across Europe, greatly solidifying Eamonn's status as the greatest Blues-rock export from Ireland since Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore.
And to not leave his fans waiting any longer, Eamonn has just announced that he will play Europe in October and November this year together with no less than American blues virtuosa Joanna Connor, who will present her new album, produced by Joe Bonamassa.
Check the tour dates and get a first impression of what Eamonn sounds like live (solo, corona-proof and with no audience allowed in back then) with this live acoustic video, recorded live in August 2020 for Bluesmoose Radio at Cafe zaal De Comm, Groesbeek (NL).
