BIOGRAPHY

Norwegian smash metalists, MAKTKAMP, turn their gaze inwards and sheds light to the dark, internal ‘maktkamp’ (ENG: power struggle). MAKTKAMP are constantly evolving, and have further developed their sound, which increasingly incorporates progressive elements in a musically two faced display of power, where the darker elements grow darker and the gentler parts even more polished. This sound of Scandinavian metal could spark associations with fellow Scandinavians Kvelertak, Soilwork and In Flames.
The band has been extremely productive since their debut album in 2022, releasing two studio albums and a concept EP, which have been well received by music media, with Sweden Rock Magazine among the praisers. Their song Tastaturkriger from their second album Caps Lock Woke Rock was also radio listed by NRK P3 and played widely on Norwegian national radio. MAKTKAMP have earned a reputation as an engaging live band, with a large tally of concerts in Norway and Sweden. North Norwegian newspaper Nordlys gave the band 6/6 for a concert they played in Tromsø in 2023.
