In 1970, when JANE appeared for the first time in the formation of the founding members Peter Panka, Werner Nadolny, Klaus Hess and Charly Maucher in Hanover, no one expected that this formation would advance to one of the most successful rock acts in Germany. The debut album “Together” was followed by numerous tours, nationally as well as internationally, with over 25 LP-/CD-/DVD productions (collectively they sold over 2 million records). They give a testimony of the work force and the undiminished popularity of this unique band with their timeless rock music.
Over the years, numerous personnel changes resulted for JANE in a musical step forward as well as fragmentation of the Band. Today there are various Jane formations whitch follow different musical directions. Together with Peter Panka, the most important member of JANE, Werner Nadolny had experienced all the highs and lows of the rock business. Peter Panka and Werner Nadolny not only lived the music of JANE, they were JANE …
After the death of JANE leader Peter Panka, Werner Nadolny as a founding member, major composer and arranger of Jane, has decided to quit with the JANE formation of guitarist Klaus Walz. By the end of 2007, Werner Nadolny continued under the name of Werner Nadolny’s Jane to create the original JANE sound with experienced musicians, just as he created and shaped it before.
The group, featuring two keyboardists, stays abreast of the central role of organs, pianos and sound carpets once inherited by the music of JANE.
By the choice of the band’s name, Werner Nadolny makes clear that this really is JANE music, just as he used to compose it.
In 2009, Werner Nadolny published the CD “Proceed With Memories …”, which he recorded to honor (and in commemoration of) his friend Peter Panka – together with rock legends Jutta Weinhold and Geff Harrison.
In April 2011, the new studio album “Eternity” followed. The same lineup now releases “The Journey I”, a best-of album featuring evergreens by the original JANE like “Hangman”, “Out In The Rain”, “Fire – Water – Earth & Air” etc – each one of them re-recorded with a fresh sound to transport the legacy of the band into the new millennium.
