SAVATAGE re-releasing Back CatalogueMay 19th, 2010
SAVATAGE didn’t know any limits concerning how Heavy Metal should sound like just like with their eighth albvum “Edge Of Thorns” (1993) which is rated as the best Heavy Metal album ever. It is indeed straighter and harder than its two predecessors “Streets” and “Gutter Ballet” but contains a lot of piano elements, moving lyrics and vocals to get under your skin which provides the album a wonderful and unique mix of feeling and hardness.
In 1997, SAVATAGE released their eleventh studio album “The Wake Of Magellan”. Like its predecessors this is a typical concept album which impresses apart from a compelling and socio-critical action with a great musical performance. SAVATAGE let many classical and progressive elements be known within their own metal sound which provide the typical and very popular “Rock Opera” character.
These classics will now be published as a Re-Edition with digipak including the original booklet. As an extra, every album contains two bonus tracks and an exclusive and personal quote of Jon Oliva he just wrote for these editions. And as a special bonus, all 14 albums yield a big SAVATAGE logo. A MUST for every CD shelf.
