The Raven Age – Promising newcomer from EnglandDec 1st, 2014
In the metal scene Great Britain is known as a region that impresses rather with class than mass when it comes to the artistic potential of bands. Especially for bands from the modern melodic division the island has been a hoard for talented newcomers over the past years – The Raven Age from London are another powerful proof for this claim. Since the release of their eponymous debut EP the five-member group managed to make a name for them in Great Britain and far beyond with lightning speed. By playing live shows in France, Portugal, Spain and even this year’s Sonisphere festival they were able to impress as newcomers and to convince especially fans of old school metal. And their success is no accident: George Harris, son of IRON MAIDEN legend Steve Harris, plays the guitar and proves us that everything the Harris clan does musically has the potentital to become a hit. After its release, their debut EP The Raven Age reached #1 of the Amazon Hot New Releases Charts, #16 of the Top 100 Best Sellers in Rock & Metal and gained airplays in Sweden’s rock radio No.1 “Bandit Rock”. That’s proof for the potential of the young group and the right attunement for their first studio album, which is set to be released in summer 2015. Until then we’ll entertain us with the EP that is worldwide available digitally and on CD via the band’s homepage.
